Caring for your cast iron doesn’t have to be complicated. Lodge cookware is pre-seasoned, so you can make your family’s favorite recipe, without the process of seasoning. You can use it on any heat source, from the stove top, to the campfire (just not the microwave). Grill some fresh Atlantic salmon on the grill pan, or bake some warm buttered biscuits in the skillet as you get the easy-release finish that cast iron is known for.

After hand washing washing your cookware, simply place it on a burner for a few minutes to dry it out, let it cool, and then rub in a thin layer of oil to help maintain your hard earned seasoning. For extra messy situations, simmer some water in your pan and then use a scraper after it’s cooled. For excellent maintenance, and to prevent rust, always dry promptly and store in a cool, dry place.

Tucked between the Appalachian Mountains and the Tennessee River you’ll find the small town of South Pittsburg, TN; a town that Lodge is proud to call home. It’s built on family values, American history, and high quality cast iron. All Lodge cast iron products are proudly made in the USA, and you can expect the highest quality of American craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.

Easy and non stick, straight out of the box! To give a little background – I had never cooked with cast iron prior to this set. I grew up with teflon, tried out the “titanium waterless cookware” (which was super expensive) and everything burned. I went back to teflon, but my last set was getting all scratched up and needed replacing so I was looking into other options. I had heard through my best friend who is a nutritionist that cast iron is the healthiest and best, but was intimidated by the maintenance. Long story short, after…

I’ve been using cast iron pans for YEARS. I’m anemic and cooking in cast iron helps me add iron to my diet. I have a dozen plus pans. Lodge is one of my preferred brands. I usually have 3 or 4 pans sitting on my stove at all times. Cast iron does take care but they’re easy to care for and use. The best thing is, with proper care they’ll put live you and your children. Even without proper care, they will. If you “ruin” a pan you can bring them back to life. I’ve revived pans that where…

I decided to try out cooking on cast iron awhile back and my mom sent me one of her old, well-seasoned ones. After reading up on how to take care of it, I was a little intimidated. Once I actually dove in and tried it though, I loved it. I’m never going back to supposedly non-stick pans again. This lodge set is a great deal if you’re wanting to get started with cast iron because you get several essential pieces for many uses. They come pre-seasoned but I went ahead and re-seasoned them…
